WHAT THE REPORT CAN TELL YOU

Start with evidence.
Then make the right fix.

A free website SEO checker can reveal missing or conflicting source signals before you commission a wider audit. This tool checks one HTML page and explains each observation with a specific next step. It does not generate a Google ranking score.

What gets checked

Page titles, descriptions, indexing directives, canonical links, heading order, image alt attributes, link names, internal links, viewport setup, document language, social metadata and JSON-LD blocks. Live URL mode also checks the HTTP response and HTTPS connection, and probes the checked site’s common robots.txt and sitemap.xml locations.

What still needs a person or another tool

The checker does not run the page’s JavaScript, load its images or styles, test links, crawl the entire site, assess content quality, measure backlinks or query Google or AI systems. A passing source check does not prove a page is indexed, accessible, fast or competitive.

Use Google Search Console to investigate indexing and search performance, PageSpeed Insights for loading performance, and Google’s Rich Results Test for supported structured-data features.

How to read the findings

Found means the specific signal was detected. Review means context or a manual check is needed. Issue identifies a concrete condition, such as invalid JSON-LD or a noindex directive; deliberate private-page settings may be appropriate. Not checked means this mode or response did not provide the needed evidence.

A useful review for South African businesses

After the technical checks, read the page as your customer would. Does it explain your actual service area, prices in rand where applicable, suitable contact options and a clear next step? Test that step on a real phone and connection. This source audit cannot verify those business facts or test the complete enquiry journey.

Bring the report to a practical SEO review, then use the search experience guide to connect visibility with useful customer actions.

Official guidance behind the checks

The methodology follows the scope of Google’s SEO Starter Guide, title-link guidance, meta-description guidance and robots directives documentation. Multiple H1s, missing descriptions and absent JSON-LD are not presented as automatic ranking penalties.

BEFORE YOU CHECK

Useful answers.

Is the website checker free?

Yes. Check a public HTML page or analyse saved HTML, read the findings and download or print the report without an account or email address. Live URL checks have request limits to keep the service available.

What does the checker inspect?

It checks the source HTML for a title, meta description, canonical link, indexing directives, headings, image alt attributes, link text, internal links, mobile viewport, document language, Open Graph metadata and JSON-LD. Live URL mode also inspects HTTPS, the page response and selected headers, and probes the same website’s common robots.txt and sitemap.xml locations.

Does a clean report mean my website will rank?

No. These are observable page foundations, not a Google ranking score. Rankings, indexed status, keyword demand, backlinks, content quality and AI citations are not measured. Use Search Console and a broader review to assess search performance.

Does it measure page speed or Core Web Vitals?

No. The checker reads one HTML response and does not run JavaScript or download page assets. The source size excludes images, CSS and JavaScript. Use PageSpeed Insights or real-user monitoring to assess performance and Core Web Vitals.

Why can a live URL check fail?

A website may block automated requests, require a login, return a non-HTML file, take too long or exceed the size limit. Private and local addresses are not scanned. If you own the page, save its HTML or copy its page source and use the browser-local HTML option.

What happens to the address or HTML I submit?

In URL mode, the server requests the public page and the same-origin robots.txt and sitemap.xml locations; that website may log the visit. No cookies or login details are sent. Pasted or uploaded HTML is analysed in your browser without an upload. Reports stay on your device unless you choose to download or share them; normal hosting access logs may still record API requests.
